About FPI

Foundry Products Incorporated celebrated their 23rd year anniversary on Dec. 1, 2007 although the company's history spans 101 years. FPI begain in Detroit in 1898 as the Warner R. Thompson Company, 1933 saw the formation of another company, Refractory Sales Company, then in 1945 the formation of Foundries Materials Companies which had locations in Coldwater and Detroit.

In 1967 CE Cast Productions Group of Combustion Engineering acquired Refractory Sales, then when FMC-C&DM was purchased in August 1978, the companies were merged together to create Foundry Materials Company/CE Cast Products.

The company took on a new image in December of 1983 when the employees purchased the company, including warehouse and office equipment. At this time they changed their name to Foundry Products, Incorporated. Two years later they moved to their present location at 6000 Hix Road in Westland, MI. Our ten person inside and outside sales team serves in excess of 500 accounts in MI, IN, KY, MN, WI, IO, IL & OH. We like to consider ourselves as a resource to our customers as our team is made of people who have made a career in this industry. We support the foundry industry and are always willing to help and service our customers.

The company specialty is to provide a full line of products and have them readily available to support our customers. There is in excess of 200 years of hands on combined experience accumulated by the FPI staff. Our success is in dealing with the smaller foundries averaging 20-40 employees. But more important, we offer the necessary technical backup for those products we sell. We deliver next day in most cases, or second day at the latest. We rely on a well stocked warehouse and out own delivery trucks or common carrier to meet this quick response time.

Also, important, is this wide variety of products used in the industry. FPI represents over 60 suppliers and manufacturers with access to over 7000 products. Inventory ranges from furnace crucibles to all types of foundry sands, refractories, chemical binders, sleeves, metal treatment, and alloys. We inventory between 600-700 most common used items with other products easily accessible from our network of suppliers and manufacturers. FPI can virtually provide all the materials and equipment to start up a foundry. The mission of the company is to be a full line foundry supply house with the emphasis on service and technical support, and to be a working partner with our customers.
